Standard Chartered: Regulatory approval for Jackie Hunt's audit committee chair appointment

Standard Chartered PLC announced today that regulatory approval has been received for Jackie Hunt's appointment as chair of the audit committee. The approval, received yesterday from the PRA with consent from the FCA, solidifies her new role, which took effect on September 15, 2025. This follows the company's initial announcement regarding her appointment on May 8, 2025.

Concurrently with Hunt's appointment, Phil Rivett has stepped down as chair of the audit committee, also effective September 15, 2025. Rivett had continued to serve in the position pending regulatory clearance for Hunt.

As of September 16, 2025, the board of directors of Standard Chartered PLC includes Maria da Conceicao das Neves Calha Ramos as chair. The executive directors are William Thomas Winters, CBE (group chief executive) and Diego De Giorgi (group chief financial officer). Independent non-executive directors include Shirish Moreshwar Apte, Diane Enberg Jurgens, Robin Ann Lawther CBE, Lincoln Leong Kwok Kuen, David Tang, Linda Yi-chuang Yueh CBE, and Philip George Rivett, who serves as the senior independent director.
