Sunny Optical sees mixed August shipments; vehicle lenses up YoY

Sunny Optical Technology (Group) Company Limited announced its shipment volumes for August 2025, revealing a diverse performance. Handset lens sets saw a notable increase of 17.0% month-on-month (MoM) to 115,354,000 units, attributed to increased customer demands, although they experienced a 7.1% year-on-year (YoY) decrease. Spherical glass lenses also grew by 15.1% MoM to 3,062,000 units, despite a 2.4% YoY decline.

Conversely, vehicle lens sets experienced an 11.3% MoM decrease, with shipments reaching 10,067,000 units, due to some delays requested by customers. However, this category still posted a strong 19.3% YoY growth, driven by increased customer demands. Other lens sets declined by 15.6% MoM and 30.9% YoY to 9,081,000 units.

In optoelectronic products, handset camera modules remained relatively stable with a 1.2% MoM decrease, shipping 42,103,000 units, but showed a 6.3% YoY increase. Other optoelectronic products saw a substantial 30.9% MoM increase to 5,702,000 units, though they were down 4.3% YoY. Microscopic instruments, under optical instruments, achieved significant growth, with shipments rising 57.3% MoM and 45.1% YoY to 20,243 units.
