Guangzhou Automobile Group reports declines in August production and sales

Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. Ltd. reported a production volume of 128,238 units for August 2025, a decrease of 17.93% year-on-year. Accumulated production for 2025 reached 1,058,393 units, down 9.74% from the previous year. Sales volume for August 2025 was 135,695 units, representing an 8.43% year-on-year decrease, with accumulated sales for 2025 totaling 1,010,477 units, a 12.32% decrease compared to 2024.

Several key subsidiaries also faced challenges. GAC Honda Automobile Co. Ltd. saw its August production drop by 26.00% and sales fall by 37.83% year-on-year. Similarly, GAC Motor Co. Ltd. experienced a 26.86% decrease in August production and a 3.20% decrease in sales. GAC AION New Energy Automobile Co. Ltd. also reported significant declines, with August production down 39.01% and sales down 23.46% year-on-year.

Despite the overall declines, GAC Toyota Motor Co. Ltd. reported a slight increase in August production of 0.18% and a 14.29% increase in August sales. Year-to-date, GAC Toyota's production rose by 3.51% and sales by 4.73%. New energy vehicle production decreased by 9.47% in August, while energy-efficient vehicles saw a 14.05% decline in production for the month.
