Town Health returns to profit in first half of 2025

Town Health International Medical Group announced an unaudited profit of HK$35,593,000 for the six months ended June 30, 2025, a notable turnaround from a loss of HK$28,542,000 in the prior period. Profit attributable to owners of the company also improved to HK$12,727,000 from a loss of HK$47,676,000 in 2024. Revenue for the period was HK$900,923,000, slightly down from HK$914,280,000 in the same period last year, while gross profit decreased to HK$230,179,000 from HK$249,553,000.

The profit turnaround was primarily driven by a significant decrease in fair value losses on investment properties, which fell to HK$2,546,000 from HK$26,870,000. Additionally, the Group recorded no impairment losses on interests in associates, a substantial improvement from HK$36,700,000 in 2024. The share of profits from associates also improved to HK$7,264,000, reversing a loss of HK$1,991,000 in the previous year.

As of June 30, 2025, the Group maintained a strong financial position with net assets of HK$3,436,900,000 and net current assets of HK$1,306,142,000. The current ratio remained stable at 3.19, and the gearing ratio significantly reduced to 0.38% from 2.71%. The board did not recommend an interim dividend for the period.
