China Shenhua unit begins commercial operation after trial

China Shenhua Energy Company announced that its No. 3 power generation unit of the Jiujiang Phase II Expansion Project successfully completed its 168-hour continuous full-load trial operation and has transitioned to commercial operation.

The unit is a 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical double-reheat coal-fired power generating unit with a designed coal consumption rate of 259.92 g/kWh under pure condensing conditions.

Construction of the No. 4 unit is progressing, with commissioning expected soon.
