Standard Chartered buys back 544,000 shares for £7.4m

Standard Chartered repurchased and cancelled 543,846 ordinary shares on August 8, reducing its total issued shares from 2.31 billion to 2.31 billion shares.

The bank has now acquired 47.2 million securities under its current mandate, representing 2% of shares in issue when the program was approved in May.
