Huadian Power generation falls 6.4% in H1 2025

Huadian Power International Corporation generated 120.62 million MWh in the first half of 2025, down 6.41% year-on-year. On-grid electricity sold fell 6.46% to 113.29 million MWh.

The decline was attributed to loose supply-demand in some regions, increased new energy capacity, and reduced coal-fired unit utilization. Average on-grid electricity tariffs decreased 1.37% to approximately RMB517.12 per MWh.

The company's controlled installed capacity stands at 77,444.58 MW, with two new gas-fired power generating units recently commencing commercial operation.
