Standard Chartered repurchases 556,000 shares for £7.5m

Standard Chartered repurchased 555,865 ordinary shares on August 1 for a total of £7.5m across multiple exchanges.

The largest portion, 389,106 shares, were bought on the London Stock Exchange at prices ranging from £13.30 to £13.72, totaling £5.3m. Additional purchases were made on CBOE BXE (55,586 shares for £753,000) and CBOE CXE (111,173 shares for £1.5m).

The repurchases are part of a mandate approved in May authorizing the buyback of 236 million shares. Standard Chartered intends to cancel the purchased shares.
