BYD triples share count through bonus and capitalization issues

BYD Company Limited announced a massive expansion of its issued share capital on July 29, 2025, following shareholder approval of its 2024 profit distribution plan.

The company conducted a bonus issue distributing eight bonus shares for every ten shares held, adding 982.2m ordinary H-shares. It also distributed capitalization shares at twelve for every ten shares, increasing H-shares by 1.47bn.

Total H-shares increased from 1.23bn to 3.68bn, while Class A shares rose from 1.81bn to 5.43bn, effectively tripling the company's total share count.
