Prudential repurchases 644,520 shares for £5.9m

Prudential repurchased and cancelled 644,520 ordinary shares on 21 July for a total of £5.9m, reducing its issued share capital to 2.58bn shares.

The company bought 329,946 shares at an average price of £9.1698, and separately acquired 314,574 shares on the London Stock Exchange for £2.9m, with prices ranging from £9.162 to £9.248.

Under its current mandate granted in May, Prudential is authorised to repurchase 262.7m shares and has now bought back 24m shares to date.
