Standard Chartered to redeem USD1bn perpetual securities

Standard Chartered PLC (HKEX:2888) has issued a notice to Securityholders regarding the redemption of its USD1,000,000,000 Fixed Rate Resetting Perpetual Subordinated Contingent Convertible Securities, identified by ISINs US853254BT68 and USG84228EH74 and Stock Code 40276. The redemption, pursuant to Condition 8(c) of the Securities' terms, will occur on July 26, 2025 (the "Redemption Date"), with payment made on July 28, 2025. Securityholders will receive 100% of the principal amount, plus any accrued interest. Following the redemption, the Securities will be cancelled and the company will apply to The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited for the withdrawal of the listing of the Securities.
