Chalco abolishes supervisory committee, proposes governance changes

** Aluminum Corporation of China (HKEX:2600) has announced a comprehensive set of corporate governance changes, highlighted by the abolition of its Supervisory Committee and proposed amendments to its Articles of Association. The changes also include revisions to the Rules of Procedures for Shareholders' Meetings and the Rules of Procedures for the Board Meeting. To that end, the board approved the transfer of supervisory duties to the Audit Committee. In addition, they plan to add an employee director to the board. As a result, the company is planning a new round of director elections.
