Prudential Funding (Asia) to issue SGD 600m subordinated notes

** Prudential plc (HKEX:2378) has announced that Prudential Funding (Asia) plc will issue SGD 600,000,000 in 3.800 per cent. subordinated notes due May 22, 2035. These notes will be issued under Prudential Funding (Asia)'s US$10,000,000,000 Medium Term Note Programme, as detailed in the final terms released on May 20, 2025, and supplemented by the prospectus dated March 28, 2025, with a supplementary prospectus from May 2, 2025. Concurrently, Prudential plc also declared a transaction in its own shares, purchasing 350,000 ordinary shares at a volume-weighted average price of GBP 8.6399, with the intention to cancel these shares, thereby decreasing the amount outstanding to 2,602,934,840. This share transaction was executed through Barclays Capital Securities Limited and is in line with shareholder authorization obtained at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and existing agreements with Barclays. The issuance of subordinated notes and the buyback of shares indicate Prudential's ongoing capital management activities across its diverse markets in Asia and Africa.
