Everbright Securities announces final dividend for 2024, tax details

Everbright Securities has announced its final dividend for the financial year ending December 31, 2024. Shareholders are set to receive RMB 1.086 per 10 shares, subject to approval at the upcoming general meeting on June 17, 2025. The announcement updates previous releases with details regarding withholding tax rates applicable to different categories of shareholders, including non-resident enterprises and individuals. Non-resident enterprise shareholders will face a 10% tax rate, while non-resident individual shareholders may be subject to 10% or 20% tax depending on the existence of tax agreements between their country of residence and China. Mainland individual investors investing through the HK-Shanghai Stock Connect will be subject to 20% tax on dividend income. The company has stated that details about the HKD amount to be paid, the exchange rate, ex-dividend date, book close period, record date, and payment date will be announced later.
