Prudential plc executes share buyback program

Prudential plc (HKEX:2378) announced today that it has repurchased 260,000 of its ordinary shares on the London Stock Exchange through Barclays Capital Securities Limited. The shares, each with a nominal value of GBP0.05, were bought back at prices ranging from GBP8.0820 to GBP8.2140, with an average price of GBP8.1481, resulting in a total expenditure of GBP2,118,507.76. These repurchased shares will be canceled, decreasing the number of issued shares. This transaction was executed in accordance with the authority granted by shareholders at the company's 2024 Annual General Meeting and the agreement with Barclays announced in December 2024. Following the transaction, Prudential's total number of issued shares will be 2,605,597,215. The buyback was conducted across multiple trading venues, including BATS, CHI-X, the London Stock Exchange, Turquoise, and Aquis. Prudential also disclosed that it has a general mandate to repurchase up to 274,967,019 shares, of which 147,644,802 have already been repurchased. The company intends not to issue new shares or sell treasury shares until June 5, 2025.
