BYD April sales surge, driven by electric vehicle demand

BYD Company Limited (HKEX:1211) announced a substantial increase in its production and sales volume for April 2025, primarily driven by the growing demand for new energy vehicles. Total new energy vehicle production reached 385,064 units, up 52.39% year-on-year, while sales volume hit 380,089 units, a 46.98% increase compared to April 2024. Passenger vehicle sales also saw a strong performance, with 372,615 units sold. Battery electric vehicle sales specifically rose significantly with a year-on-year increase of 40.86%. The installed capacity of NEV power battery and energy storage battery for the month was approximately 26.478 GWh. The cumulative installed capacity for the year 2025 was approximately 79.031 GWh. The overseas sales volume of New Energy Vehicles achieved 79,086 units of the Company for the month of April 2025.
