Chinalco increases stake in Aluminum Corporation of China

Aluminum Corporation of China (HKEX:2600) announced that its controlling shareholder, Chinalco, along with parties acting in concert, has increased its stake in the company. As of April 29, 2025, Chinalco had acquired 53,971,083 A shares and 54,020,000 H shares. The A share purchases cost approximately RMB347 million, while the H share purchases totaled approximately HKD224 million (equivalent to RMB208 million). The cumulative increase represents approximately 0.63% of the company's total issued share capital, with a total investment of approximately RMB555 million, funded through internal funds of approximately RMB524 million and special loans of approximately RMB31 million. Prior to this increase, Chinalco held 5,563,312,965 shares, representing 32.43% of the company. Following the recent transactions, Chinalco now holds 5,671,304,048 shares, accounting for approximately 33.06% of the total issued share capital. Chinalco intends to continue increasing its shareholdings in the Company when appropriate.
