Chinalco increases stake in Aluminum Corporation of China

Aluminum Corporation of China (HKEX:2600) announced that its controlling shareholder, Chinalco, along with its parties acting in concert, has begun increasing their shareholdings in the company. This move follows Chinalco's previously disclosed plan to increase its stake by between RMB1,000 million and RMB2,000 million, with the number of shares not exceeding 2% of the total share capital. As of April 9, 2025, Chinalco has acquired 15,279,815 A shares for approximately RMB95 million and 9,624,000 H shares for approximately HK$37 million (approximately RMB35 million). Cumulatively, Chinalco increased its holdings by approximately 0.15% of the company’s total issued share capital, amounting to roughly RMB130 million. Before this initial increase, Chinalco held 5,563,312,965 shares, representing 32.43% of the company. Following the acquisitions, Chinalco now holds 5,588,216,780 shares, accounting for approximately 32.57% of the total share capital. Chinalco intends to continue increasing its shareholdings as appropriate, based on the previously announced plan.
