China Molybdenum sees production increase in Q1 2025

CMOC Group Limited (HKEX:3993) announced a positive start to 2025, with increased production across several key commodities from January to March. Copper production rose by 15.65% to 170,574 tonnes, while cobalt output surged by 20.68% to 30,414 tonnes. Niobium production also saw a gain, increasing by 4.39% to 2,616 tonnes. Molybdenum production was slightly down by 3.83% to 3,341 tonnes, and tungsten rose 3.75% to 1,993 tonnes. The company attributed the positive results to seizing favorable market opportunities and stabilizing production, supported by increased sales prices across its product range. Management noted that this strong start would accelerate expansion projects to improve resource utilization.
