China Tobacco International expands cigarette export business

China Tobacco International (HK) Company Limited (HKEX:6055) announced an expansion of its Exclusive Cigarettes Export Business with a new framework agreement with Inner Mongolia Kunming Company. This agreement, effective April 3, 2025, mirrors existing arrangements with original parties and aims to increase the supply of duty-free cigarettes. The Stock Exchange granted a modification of existing waivers, exempting the new agreement from strict annual cap and independent shareholder approval requirements. For the year 2023, duty-free cigarette procurement from original parties was HKD1,108.1 million. The company also stated its ongoing efforts to increase its market coverage and optimize product portfolio in the Exclusive Cigarettes Export Business.
