China Southern Airlines halts logistics unit's SSE listing plan

China Southern Airlines (HKEX:1055) has announced the withdrawal of its application to list its non-wholly owned subsidiary, China Southern Air Logistics, on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE). The decision, communicated in a February 21, 2025, announcement, comes after "thorough communication and prudent evaluation" in light of the current market environment. The airline stated that the withdrawal will not materially impact either China Southern Airlines itself or its logistics arm, and won't affect its existing operations or future strategic plans. This update follows previous announcements regarding the proposed spin-off dating back to November 2022. Additionally, China Southern Airlines announced changes to its senior management, including the appointments of Zeng Yong Chao as Executive Vice President, Chen Zhe as Chief Pilot (and cessation of his role as Chief Security Officer), and Cai Qi as Chief Security Officer. Wu Ying Xiang and Wu Rong Xin have ceased to be the Executive Vice Presidents of the Company.
