Chalco chairman Shi Zhirong resigns, citing work requirements

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (HKEX:2600) announced the resignation of Chairman and Executive Director, Mr. Shi Zhirong, effective February 24, 2025. According to the announcement, Mr. Shi's resignation is due to work requirements. In addition to his role as Chairman and Executive Director, Mr. Shi also served as a member of the Nomination Committee and chairman of the Development and Planning Committee under the Board. Chalco confirmed that Mr. Shi has no disagreement with the Board, and no matters related to his resignation need to be brought to the attention of shareholders. The company stated that Mr. Shi's resignation will not result in the number of directors falling below the statutory minimum. The Board of Directors acknowledged Mr. Shi's contributions during his tenure. The company intends to appoint a new director(s) and elect a new chairman.
