China Southern Airlines reports strong passenger traffic growth

China Southern Airlines (HKEX:1055) announced robust operating data for January 2025, with passenger traffic (RPK) increasing by 17.67% compared to the same period last year. International routes led the surge, experiencing a 46.33% increase in passenger traffic. Passenger capacity (ASK) also grew by 12.47% year-on-year, with international routes expanding by 34.29%. The passenger load factor reached 84.76%, a 3.74 percentage point increase year-on-year. Cargo and mail traffic (RTK) decreased slightly by 0.81%, impacting cargo load factor. The airline added four new aircraft and disposed of one, bringing its fleet to 920 commercial aircraft. Newly launched routes include several Beijing Daxing services.
