WuXi AppTec elects new independent director, restructures committees

WuXi AppTec Co., Ltd. (HKEX: 2359) announced the election of Mr. Xuesong Leng as an independent non-executive director, effective January 22, 2025. Shareholders approved the election at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) where 39.43% of voting shares were represented. The appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Dai Feng from the same position due to term limits. Mr. Leng will also join the Remuneration and Appraisal Committee and chair the Nomination Committee, replacing Mr. Feng in those roles. The EGM, held on January 22, 2025, saw near-unanimous approval for Mr. Leng's election, with 99.78% of votes cast in favor. Attendance included 3,151 shareholders and proxies, representing over 1.13 billion shares. The company confirmed Mr. Leng meets all independence criteria outlined in the Listing Rules of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
