Bank of China appoints Zhang Hui as vice chairman

Bank of China Limited (HKEX: 3988) has appointed Mr. Zhang Hui as Vice Chairman and Executive Director, effective January 8, 2025. Mr. Zhang's three-year term follows his election as Executive Director on December 20, 2024, and subsequent approval from the National Financial Regulatory Administration. He concurrently serves as the bank's President, a position he assumed in December 2024. Prior to joining Bank of China in 2024, Mr. Zhang held the position of Executive Vice President at China Development Bank. His extensive banking career also includes various leadership roles at Bank of Communications, including Chief Risk Officer and President of the Guizhou Branch. Mr. Zhang holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Shaanxi Institute of Finance and Economics (now Xi'an Jiaotong University).
