PTI hit with significant tax penalties, pays VND6.2bn to state budget

PTI disclosed on December 11, 2025, that it received a decision from the Hanoi City Department of Taxation, dated December 8, 2025. This decision imposes a total tax arrears and fines amounting to VND 6,224,485,862. The breakdown of this liability includes a fine of VND 860,181,047 for various administrative violations, such as incorrect declarations leading to tax shortfalls, using illegal invoices, and improper invoice timing.

The tax audit for 2024 also resulted in additional collections, with VND 322,785,862 for value-added tax (VAT) and VND 3,846,229,975 for corporate income tax (CIT) due to under-declaration from business and production activities. Furthermore, PTI is required to pay VND 1,195,288,978 in late payment interest on tax amounts, calculated up to November 15, 2025. PTI has confirmed that it has fully paid these amounts into the state budget, thereby fulfilling its obligations under the decision.
