Sametel fined for multi-year tax violations

Sametel Corporation was issued Decision No. 2408/QĐ-XPHC-DON by the Dong Nai Provincial Tax Department on November 10, 2025, detailing administrative penalties for tax violations. The company was fined a total of VND 389,701,250 for incorrect tax declarations, which led to underpayment of corporate income tax and value added tax from 2021-2024. This fine includes VND 344,201,250 for underpaid taxes and VND 45,500,000 for incorrect declarations that did not lead to underpayment.

In addition to the fine, Sametel is required to pay VND 1,529,911,939 in outstanding corporate income tax and VND 191,094,309 in outstanding value added tax. The company must also settle late payment interest of VND 433,160,945 for corporate income tax and VND 56,844,205 for value added tax, calculated up to October 22, 2025. All amounts are to be paid within 10 days of receiving the decision.

The company has the right to appeal or initiate administrative legal action against this decision. Failure to comply will result in enforcement actions and an additional 0.05% daily penalty on unpaid amounts.
