Vinacomin - Vang Danh coal swings to Q3 2025 profit after typhoon recovery

Vinacomin - Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company reported a substantial financial improvement in the third quarter of 2025, swinging from a net loss to a net profit. The company posted a net profit after tax of VND 14,166,932,388 in Q3 2025, a significant reversal from the net loss of VND -57,342,831,848 recorded in Q3 2024.

This turnaround is attributed to the company resuming stable production operations in Q3 2025. In contrast, Q3 2024 was heavily impacted by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), which made landfall on September 7, 2024, causing severe damage and flooding in two production areas. This forced the company to suspend production for repairs and resulted in substantial costs for equipment, labor, and other expenses, leading to the reported loss.

Despite facing difficulties in product consumption during the current period, Vinacomin - Vang Danh Coal successfully operated profitably. The transaction ratio for Q3 2025, based on the purchase and sale of coal under a business cooperation contract, reached 50.92% of the company's total asset value.
