Ha Tu Coal chairman resigns, interim successor appointed

Ngo The Phiet has resigned as chairman of the board of directors of Vinacomin – Ha Tu Coal JSC, effective October 7, 2025. The board accepted his resignation and will submit his dismissal as a board member for approval at the nearest general meeting of shareholders.

Following Phiet’s resignation, the board unanimously appointed Tran Quoc Tuan, a current board member, director of the company, and Vinacomin’s representative, to temporarily assume the responsibilities of chairman, effective October 7, 2025. This interim appointment will continue until a new chairman is officially elected. The board has also nominated Vu Van Khan, Vinacomin’s capital representative, as a candidate to be elected as an additional board member for the 2022-2027 term.

An extraordinary general meeting of shareholders is scheduled for November 28, 2025, with a record date of October 27, 2025. The meeting, to be held at the company’s office, will address the dismissal and election of board members, and potentially adjust the 2025 business and production plan. The board has established a steering committee, led by the director, to organize this meeting.
