SCI E&C faces tax enforcement over overdue payments for power plant project

SCI E&C Joint Stock Company announced on October 8, 2025, that it has received four enforcement decisions from the Can Tho City Tax Department regarding tax management. The decisions, dated September 19, 2025, relate to outstanding provisional tax for the Long Phu 1 Thermal Power Plant project.

The enforcement measures include debiting funds from the company's accounts at three different banks for a total of VND 2,871,935,889 in each instance. The outstanding tax is attributed to the project's suspension since 2018, which has halted payments from the investor, leading to unresolved receivables and unverified construction volumes. SCI E&C is currently awaiting a response from the Can Tho City Tax Department on this matter.

The enforcement decisions are effective for 30 days, from September 19, 2025, to October 20, 2025.
