SCI reports sharp profit decline in first half 2025

SCI Joint Stock Company (HNX:S99) announced a significant 68% decrease in profit after tax for the first six months of 2025 in its separate financial statements, totaling 41,901 million VND compared to the same period in 2024. This decline is mainly attributed to a 32% reduction in gross profit, or 11,434 million VND, due to higher costs of imported raw materials and equipment. Additionally, financial revenue plummeted by 76%, or 47,134 million VND, as the company did not receive a dividend payment from SCI Nghe An Joint Stock Company, unlike in the first half of 2024.

The consolidated financial statements for the first six months of 2025 also saw a 12% decrease in profit after tax after auditing, amounting to a 5,408 million VND reduction from the pre-audited figures. This adjustment was primarily due to changes in pre-tax accounting profits across the company's system and corresponding deferred corporate income tax expense.

As of June 30, 2025, SCI Joint Stock Company's total assets stood at 2,188,154,551,626 VND, with total liabilities at 934,757,432,689 VND and owner’s equity at 1,253,397,118,937 VND. The company operates primarily in the construction sector, with over 90% of its total operating revenue derived from overseas activities.
