Educational Book JSC reports increased losses after revenue decline

Educational Book Joint Stock Company disclosed a consolidated after-tax loss of VND 1,092,739,392 for the first six months of 2025. This represents a significant increase in losses of VND 586,099,518 compared to the VND 506,639,874 loss reported in the same period of 2024, an increase of 115.6%. The primary reason for this decline was a decrease in sales revenue during the first half of 2025 compared to the previous year.

An additional audit review of the financial statements further impacted the reported figures. The consolidated profit after tax for the first half of 2025 before audit was VND 679,194,138, which after audit, turned into a loss of VND 1,092,739,392. This post-audit adjustment reduced profit by VND 1,771,933,530, a 260.88% decrease. This change was attributed to an increase in the cost of goods sold due to a higher provision rate for inventory price reduction, partially offset by decreased selling and general administration expenses.
