Yoshimura Food Holdings subsidiary nets 332m yen from TEPCO

Yoshimura Food Holdings announced today that its consolidated subsidiary, Marukichi Co., Ltd., received 332 million yen in compensation from Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. This payment, received on December 9, 2025, covers damages incurred from August 1, 2023, to June 30, 2024, due to import restrictions on Japanese seafood following the release of ALPS treated water. The compensation will be recognized as an extraordinary profit in the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ending February 2026.

This compensation specifically relates to Marukichi's export-related business. The company also stated that it is separately pursuing claims for damages caused by reputational harm.

Yoshimura Food Holdings noted that this compensation was not factored into its full-year consolidated earnings forecast issued on October 15, 2025, as the timing and amount of receipt were uncertain. The company is currently assessing the impact on its full-year earnings forecast and will promptly disclose any necessary revisions.
