Guangdong Electric Power's dapu unit 3 begins commercial operations

Guangdong Electric Power Development Company Limited announced that Unit 3 of the Guangdong Yuedian Dapu Power Plant Phase II Project officially commenced commercial operations on December 9, 2025. This follows the successful completion of a 168-hour full-load trial operation. The project, located in Dapu County, Meizhou City, is a key investment by the company's controlled subsidiary, Guangdong Yuedian Dapu Power Generation Co., Ltd.

The Dapu Power Plant Phase II Project involves the construction of two 1000MW ultra-supercritical secondary reheat coal-fired generating units, with a total investment of yuan 8.122 bn. Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 9 bn kilowatt-hours annually, with its unit's comprehensive energy consumption rated among the most advanced domestically.

The commissioning of Unit 3 is anticipated to significantly bolster the stable and sufficient power supply in Guangdong Province and drive economic transformation and upgrading in the Meizhou region. Furthermore, it is expected to expand the company's installed power generation capacity, enhance its overall market competitiveness, optimize its power source structure, and contribute to its future sustainable development.
