LIC Housing Finance proposes Doraiswamy Ramachandran as non-executive chairman

LIC Housing Finance Limited is seeking shareholder approval for the appointment of Doraiswamy Ramachandran as a non-executive (LIC nominee) director and chairman of the company. The appointment, effective October 16, 2025, follows his nomination by the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LICI) and approval by the Reserve Bank of India.

Ramachandran, 59, brings over 39 years of experience, including his current role as chief executive officer & managing director of LIC of India. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and is a Fellow Member of the Insurance Institute of India.

The postal ballot will be conducted electronically, commencing on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. (IST) and concluding on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:00 P.M. (IST). Shareholders registered as of Friday, December 5, 2025, are eligible to vote. Results are expected to be announced on or before Friday, January 9, 2026.

Ramachandran will not receive remuneration from LIC Housing Finance Limited, as he currently draws remuneration from LIC of India. He will not be liable to retire by rotation during his tenure.
