Apollo Micro Systems to invest ₹1,500 crores in Telangana expansion

Apollo Micro Systems Limited (AMS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Telangana (GoT) on December 8, 2025, for a greenfield expansion project. The company, along with its subsidiaries, plans to invest approximately ₹1,500 crores to strengthen the nation's capabilities in critical sectors such as defence and high-energetic explosives.

The project aims to expand AMS's manufacturing and explosive filling capabilities, focusing on warheads, rocket motors, and various calibre artillery systems and ammunition. This initiative positions AMS at the forefront of India's rapidly accelerating defence manufacturing ecosystem, catering to both domestic and overseas demand, and aligning with the government of India's "Aatmanirbhar Bharat" vision.

The government of Telangana will facilitate necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, clearances, and fiscal incentives. Karunakar Reddy, managing director of AMS, stated that this expansion represents a powerful step forward, significantly elevating the company's scale, technological capability, and strategic relevance to the nation.
